After an incident of a stolen bike, Necedah Officer John Miller of the Necedah Police Department showed up to take a report from Robin Gilson(AKA Robin Flateau on Facebook).  Her young daughters bike had been stolen.  After having taken the report Officer Miller left.  What Officer Miller did after that however left MS Gilson taking to Facebook to let everyone know about the kindness Miller displayed.  According to the post, Miller came back about 2 hours later with a new bike for MS Gilson’s daughter.  While they are still looking into the stolen bike however, the daughter has something to ride in the meantime.  While still upset about the bike being stolen, it meant the world to this mother and daughter that he would go out of his way to do this for them.

It didn’t take long for the news to spread and gained a fair amount of positive comments over Millers actions.  Many people responded thanking the officer for what he did.  “It seems to me that John has always been this kind of gentleman. This is his community and always has been. Kudos to Officer John Miller”  Said Tracy Cole-Paul in one comment.

MS Gilson first noticed the bike missing on October 11th.  She called the Juneau County Sheriffs Office and they sent a deputy out.  The deputy advised she should fill out a report with the Necedah Police and check at the Village Hall to see if any bikes were brought in.  The bike was later recovered after having been set on fire at a nearby pond.  While describing her interaction with Miller she states “He makes you feel safe and comfortable when he takes your report. He treats you like a human being not just another piece of paperwork!!”  MS Gilson was grateful for everything Necedah Officer Miller has done.

We spoke with Officer Miller who said it was nothing, he figured it was one way he could put a smile on her face.
